TWINSBURG, OH (WOIO)- Two men busted stealing over $400 worth of meat from the Twinsburg Giant Eagle.
It happened at the Darrow Road store on June 16.
A grocery store worker called the cops after witnessing 33-year-old John Fowkes leave the store with a shopping cart full of meat.
Police found Fowkes hiding behind a nearby Dairy Queen, and placed him under arrest. Fowkes admitted to shoplifting the meat products.
Fowkes said his accomplice, 26-year-old Nicholas Granger, was waiting in an idling car in the Giant Eagle parking lot.
Fowkes also said he was a heroin user. Both men told police that they played to buy drugs with the stolen meats.
Fowkes is charged with petty theft and Granger is charged with obstruction of justice and possession of narcotics equipment.
